It's crazy that once I set up a blog for one class many other classes require me to do one as well. Lucky for me I can use the same blog for all of them. So sorry to those of you who are following me and this post has nothing to do with our class.
Anyway...This post is dealing with educational blogs that we can follow and enjoy. I used some of the example blogs. I found them very interesting. The first one I chose was: http://classblogmeister.com/blog.php?blogger_id=61490. This blog taught me a lot. I didn't know that younger students wouldn't be able to use their real names. The teacher in this blog had them create cat names since their school mascot was the bobcats. I think the teacher incorporated the school mascot in a very productive and fun way.
My second blog I chose was: http://www.classblogmeister.com/blog.php?blogger_id=71175
This blog had some awesome ideas with pictures. It is a great way to post activities done in the classroom so everyone can see. And it is something that the students could share with everyone just by giving out a URL address.
The final blog I looked at was: http://oakridgesixthgrade.edublogs.org/
This blog had some pros and cons for me. I didn't like how the teacher kept asking so many questions, in such a strict manor. I believe that blogs should be fun and pretty much open for however the students would want to do. Something I really liked about the blog is how the teacher kept emphasizing that the students needed to be respectful to the teachers and students who they would mention in their blog.
Here are the two URLs to the RSS blogs that I chose to follow on Google Reader....

This assignment was very informative for me. I didn't know about google reader and it will be something that I will like to use when I start my teaching. I think setting up a blog site for students would be a fun way to interact with my students!
Ok I'm finished for those previous followers. :) I'll talk to you again soon!!
